Maintaining equitable policies and procedures, focusing on hurricane preparedness and staff development, ensuring gender-affirming housing and healthcare, promoting civic engagement, and preventing in-custody deaths and violence.

Control


Providing adequate training and resources for staff, ensuring compliance with the federal consent decree, and striving for a smaller, safer, and more humane jail environment.

Community


Engaging in family reunification efforts, investing in transformative justice programs, recognizing that programs reduce recidivism, and focusing on the youth of New Orleans.

Constituency


Recognizing the unique needs and concerns of different demographic groups within Orleans Parish.

Collaboration


Working closely with government agencies, community partners, activists, city leadership, providers, educators, and grantees focused on re-entry and reunification.

Together, we are securing necessary resources, addressing staffing shortages, and effectively collaborating with community stakeholders to achieve ambitious goals.
